Maries County Fair Market Steer, Market Goat and Market Lamb Sale Rules and Regulations
All market animals taken to The Butcher Shop outside of Vienna to be processed will be USDA inspected at the time of slaughter.
The checks for the purchase of the animals will be held until the animal has been slaughtered and passed USDA inspection. If the animal is condemned by the inspector the purchase price of the animal will be returned to the person/company that purchased the animal. There will be a meeting held for all Stockmasters 4-H members and FFA members that sold animals at the fair on Friday September 7th to hand out checks.
These arrangements apply only to the market animals that are taken to The Butcher Shop for processing. Buyers that want their animals taken to another processor will need to have written information from a USDA inspector to present to the club leader prior to Thursday, September 6th if the animal does not pass inspection. The Buyers purchase price will then be refunded to him with proper paperwork stating why the animal was condemned.
The above info can/will be read at the time of the sale and can also be included with any Buyer's Invitation mailed or handed out to the public.
